Well, I just purchased my first set of cloth diapers for my munchkin. After doing a lot of research and reading a lot of mommy reviews I went with the FuzziBunz. I think I’m going to buy a dozen every pay check from here until the baby is born and if he/she goes through a dozen a day, i’ll have enough diapers for 7 days or so. They are pretty pricey…the one dozen cost 167.40, but I did the math and disposable diapers would be sooooooo much more expensive in the long run. Not to mention the harm to the environement.
Did you know that It takes 30 barrels of oil and five whole trees to disposable diaper a baby from birth to potty training?
What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another. - Gandhi
With 3,890,000 babies being born in the Us every year and approximately 80% of those babies using disposable diapers , that’s 93,360,000 million barrels of oil and 3,112,000 tree used just to diaper only the babies born in the US for 2.5 years! That’s a lot of waste and pollutions when those diapers take about 500 years to degrade in the landfill and pollute our ground water with waste!
Do your research mamas! Let’s do our part in saving the planet. One baby makes a difference.
Here’s a picture of what they look like!
